LITIGATION
Litigation means anything having to do with appearing in Court in order
to protect the interest of the client.
If you have been sued or if someone
is threatening to sue you, if you have been sent a demand letter under
General Laws Chapter 93A saying you have committed
and unfair and deceptive practice and may be the subject of a claim seeking
double or triple damages, or if you have such a claim against someone
else, this is
a litigation matter for the District or Superior Courts.
If you or a loved one
has been seriously injured, the claim for compensation becomes a matter for
litigation.
If you have been charged with a crime or a youngster in your family
has been charged with a juvenile offense, the defense of the charges
is also litigation
in the District, Superior or Juvenile Court.
If you feel that someone has
used undue influence on a family member so that the person's will
is not fair and reasonable, this is litigation in the Probate Court.
If
you and your spouse are divorcing, this also is a litigation matter.
