Juveniles are charged with delinquency complaints, not criminal complaints.
The Juvenile Court has wide-reaching assets to deal with children who
have broken the law. The Court has access to social service agencies, experienced
probation officers, and lock-up facilities when necessary.
A juvenile
offense must be defended as vigorously as an adult charge. Even a
delinquency finding can have wide-reaching consequences for children who later
in life want to enter the armed forces or obtain jobs which require security
clearance.
